Chippendale Terrace

This project involved the sensitive modernisation of a quaint heritage terrace in the heart of the city. Our challenge was to overcome the constraints of a compact urban footprint to improve daily flow. By reconfiguring the kitchen, laundry, and wet areas, we focused on enhancing functionality while prioritising natural light by adding skylights and fluted glass doors. The objective was to strip back the cramped feel of the original structure to create an open, airy home.
The interior features a palette of blues, greens, and terrazzo look tiles that are complementary to the home’s heritage period. Sage green windows and a matching front door create a welcoming exterior. With new solid timber flooring throughout, we opened the layout to position the main living spaces in the lightest, brightest area of the home. The result is a highly functional interior perfectly tailored to a modern lifestyle.
"We really valued Sarah’s design for our renovation. She helped turn our house into a home, balancing the character of our terrace together with a clean, modern edge."
